On May 25, the 23rd Chinese Bridge- World University Students Chinese Competition Guyana Final and the Second "CNOOC Cup - Chinese Bridge" Competition in Guyana was held at the University of Guyana. H.E Guo Haiyan, Chinese Ambassador to Guyana, Dr. Mellissa Ifll, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the UG, Dr. Roslin Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Humanities, Mr. Al Creighton and Dr. Guo Zhiyan, Directors of Confucius Institute at UG attended.

In her remarks, Ambassador Guo applauded the participants' passion and progress in learning Chinese language and Chinese culture, and encouraged them to forge ahead to make new contribution to China-Guyana friendship and cultural exchanges.

The competition is hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Guyana, organized by the Confucius Institute at UG and sponsored by CNOOC Petroleum Guyana limited. 

Ms. Shaneeza Persaud and Ms. Jade Mercurius won the Special Prize and the First Prize respectively.
