Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong Visits Eastern Cities of Iceland

From June 12 to 14, Ambassador He Rulong visited Múlaþing in eastern Iceland where he met with Mayor Björn Ingimarsson and visited hydropower station and dam projects of Icelandic National Power Company. He also visited a fishery enterprise in Fjarðabyggð.

Following Mayor Ingimasson's introduction of the overall situation of Múlaþing, Ambassador He said that Múlaþing is an important city in eastern Iceland and has broad space for cooperation with China in green energy and tourism development. The embassy is willing to maintain communication with Múlaþing to actively facilitate cooperation between Múlaþing and localities of China.

Mayor Ingimasson welcomed Ambassador He's visit and said that with the continuous development of China's economy, more and more Chinese tourists are travelling to eastern Iceland, bringing vitality to the economy of his municipality. Múlaþing welcomes it and hopes to strengthen cooperation with localities of China.

During his visit to Múlaþing and Fjarðabyggð, Ambassador He also investigated on the local green energy development and salmon farming.
