On July 11, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Jiang Zaidong met with Mr. Faisal Kundi, leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party and Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. Minister Counselor Xu Hangtian and Counselor Wang Shengjie were present.

Jiang Zaidong said the Communist Party of China is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Pakistan Peoples Party and jointly promote the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province is an important part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, with a special economic zone in operation and large hydropower projects under construction. It is hoped that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province could attach great importance and take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, and at the same time continuously improve and optimize security measures, so as to create a safe and convenient environment for the promotion of the relevant cooperation.

Kundi said that friendship with China is a cross-party consensus in Pakistan, and the Pakistan Peoples Party is willing to strengthen exchanges and expand cooperation with the Communist Party of China. As the frontline of counter-terrorism in Pakistan, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province will resolutely combat terrorism and create a reliable security environment and a favorable business environment for the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
