H.E. Yang Xiaoguang, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea, arrived in PNG on July 11, 2024. PNG acting Chief of Protocol welcomed Ambassador Yang at the airport.

Ambassador Yang said to local media at the airport that it’s a great honor to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the 16th Chinese Ambassador to Papua New Guinea. This is an important and glorious mission. China-PNG relations are witnessing robust growth, and our cooperation in various fields keeps deepening. There is a broader prospect for the development of our relations. I look forward to working with all friends from PNG to further implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of our two countries, to reaffirm our mutual commitment to the China-PNG comprehensive strategic partnership. We will continuously strengthen dialogue and communication, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, and broaden people-to-people exchanges, to harvest more tangible cooperation results to the greater benefit of our two countries and peoples.
