On July 23, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Canada H.E. Wang Di held talks with Canada China Business Council. Former Prime Minister of Canada the Right Honourable Jean Chrétien, Chair of the Board of CCBC Mr. Olivier Desmarais, President of CCBC Mr. Graham Shantz, Chinese Consul General Mr. Luo Weidong and Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Canada Mr. Sun Jiwen attended the event, too.

Ambassador Wang briefed the attendees on the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and stressed that China will further deepen reform comprehensively, pursue high-standard opening up, and build a high-level socialist market economy. This will bring more opportunities for Canada’s development and China-Canada cooperation. Highly complementary in resources and economic structures, China and Canada enjoy broad cooperation prospects. Both sides need to seize the opportunities and deepen the mutually beneficial economic cooperation and trade between our two countries, so as to deliver more benefits to the two countries and peoples. We hope that CCBC will continue to actively contribute to exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and Canadian companies.

CCBC congratulated China on successfully holding the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and looked forward to healthy and stable development of China-Canada relations. CCBC would remain committed to expanding China-Canada cooperation trade and agricultural and financial cooperation.
