On July 29, Ambassador He Xiangdong attended the 2024 Welcome Reception for UCD China Joint Colleges scholarship students, with the presence of Professor Dolores O'Riordan, Vice President of UCD for Global Engagement and Professor Paul Fanning, Provost of UCD's Joint Colleges in China.

Professor O'Riordan welcomed the students participating in this programme and introduced the main engagements of the programme. She hoped that the fantastic Ireland would leave a deep impression and gain for the students from China.

Ambassador He hoped that the students would seize the valuable exchange opportunities, enhance their understanding of Irish society and culture while studying their majors, and strive to become a bridge for friendly exchanges between China and Ireland and their young people.

This year is the sixth year that UCD has held this exchange programme, and 124 scholarship students from Beijing Dublin International College,  Chang'an Dublin International College of Transportation and Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences & Technology participated.
