Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas Yan Jiarong Pays a Courtesy Call on Minister of Energy and Transport of The Bahamas, Jobeth Colby-Davis

On July 29, 2024, Ms. Yan Jiarong, Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Ms. Jobeth Colby-Davis, Minister of Energy and Transport of The Bahamas.

Ms. Yan briefed the significance and main achievements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, focusing on China's comprehensive promotion of modernization of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature, promoting comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and transforming climate challenges into green growth opportunities. She emphasized that China is willing to work with The Bahamas to tap the potential for practical cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and others,which will help to strengthen the solid foundation for the sound and stable development of China-Bahamas relations.

Ms. Colby-Davis commented positively on the China-Bahamas relations and China's development in recent years, and said that China's green and low-carbon development strategy is in alignment with the energy reform being promoted by the Bahamian  Government, and  that she is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side in relevant fields.
