Chinese Consul General in Brisbane Ruan Zongze Delivers a Speech in the Brisbane Club

On 31 July 2024, Consul-General Dr Ruan Zongze delivered a speech titled " Chinese modernization: new opportunity for China-Australia cooperation” in the Brisbane Club. About 100 guests from industries and commerce and other fields of Queensland attended. The event was hosted by Mr Peter Costantini OAM, SAS Group Founding Director. SAS Group Chairman Hon Larry Anthony AO and President of Brisbane Club Ms Sally McCray were present. Deputy Consul-General Li Suyun and Vice Consul Shi Wenhua accompanied.

Dr Ruan stressed the importance of adhering to the One China principle on the Taiwan question. He said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China mapped out the overall plan for further deepening reform comprehensively in the Chinese modernization, and further released the information of opening up to the outside world and optimizing the business environment. The economic and trade cooperation between China and Australia, as well as China and Queensland, is vibrant and promising. Hope bilateral cultural exchanges, local cooperation, and economic and trade interactions could be enhanced.

Dr Ruan also answered questions from the audience about China-Australia mutual investment and cognition relating to each other, etc.
