Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lixin Attends the Closing Ceremony of the Chinese Language Training Course

On 1 August, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives H.E. Wang Lixin attended the closing ceremony of the Chinese Language Training Course held by the Embassy at the Chinese Language Centre of Villa College. The Controller-General of Maldivian Immigration, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, Minister of State for Tourism and the Rector of Villa College attended the ceremony.

H.E. Wang Lixin said that the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was successfully held in Beijing last month, and has released clear signals for further expanding high-standard opening-up, which will provide new opportunities for cooperation with all countries including the Maldives. Convenient visa policy and the increase of direct flights are all conducive to cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and the Maldives. To implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, China is ready to work with the Maldives to further strengthen cooperation in culture and tourism fields. It is believed that Maldivian Immigration Officers who can speak Chinese will make greater contributions to promoting China-Maldives friendship.

Mr. Mohamed Shamaan Waheed, the Controller-General of Maldivian Immigration, thanked the embassy for providing training class, said that the trainees will provide better services for Chinese citizens and play a positive role in facilitating personnel exchanges between the two countries and promoting China-Maldives cooperation. The trainees made a wonderful presentation in Chinese in a warm and grand atmosphere.
