Chinese Consul General in Auckland Chen Shijie Visits New Zealand Guangzhou Chinese Association Inc

On July 31, Consul General Chen Shijie visited the New Zealand Guangzhou Chinese Association Inc (NZGZCAI) and had a round table discussion with President Frank Su and board members.

Chen affirmed the association's continuing efforts in serving overseas Chinese and promoting friendly cooperation between China and New Zealand, introduced the  Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of CPC and achievements of Premier Li Qiang's visit to New Zealand. Chen encouraged the association to further strengthen its capacity building and make contributions to building a harmonious Chinese community, play the bridging role in promoting China-New Zealand friendship. The Consulate General will adhere to the concept of "people-centered diplomacy", do its best to provide consular services, and create more favorable conditions for the lives of overseas Chinese in the consular district.

Su introduced the history of the association and said that it will further enhance the cohesion of the overseas Chinese association and make greater contributions to fostering the understanding and friendship between the people of China and New Zealand.

Chen attended the opening ceremony of the Service Center of NZGZCAI in central Auckland after the round table discussion.
