Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wang Yu Arrives in Mogadishu to Assume Office

On 6 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador-Designate to Somalia, arrived in Mogadishu to assume office. He was received by Director of National Protocol Mr. Hussein Sheikh Abdulsalam and Director of Asia and Australia Affairs Mr. Said Jama Mire of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, representatives of the Somali Federal Government, as well as diplomats of the Chinese Embassy in Somalia.

Ambassador-Designate Wang said as Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, he is ready to work with the Somali government and various social sectors to further implement the consensus of the two countries’ heads of state, so as to deepen the traditional friendship and enhance the friendly cooperation, bringing China-Somalia relations to new heights.

On behalf of the Somali Federal Government, Director Abdulsalam and Director Mire extended warm welcome to Ambassador-Designate Wang, saying the Federal Government of Somalia would render support and facilitation to the Ambassador’s exercise of duties to jointly midwife more fruits for the two countries cooperation in various fields.
