Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing Attends Graduation Ceremony of the First Chinese Language Training Course for Police Officers

On August 5, 2024, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing attended the graduation ceremony of the first Chinese language training course for Samoa police officers, presented certificates to the participating officers jointly with Vice Chancellor of the National University of Samoa (NUS) Professor Tuifuisa'a Patila Amosa and Commissioner of Police and Prisons and Correctional Services Auapaau Logoitino Filipo. Forty people including the departing director of the Confucius Institute at NUS Mr Chen Wanhui and his successor Ms Zhou Yufang were present.

Ambassador Fei congratulated the trainees on completing their training and praised NUS and its Confucius Institute as well as the Samoa Police Services for implementing the Global Civilization Initiative and creating opportunities for the officers.

Professor Amosa and Commissioner Filipo expressed their gratitude to the Confucius Institute and the Chinese Embassy for their support to the program. They acknowledged the performance of the participating officers and encouraged them to further their Chinese language learning.

The teacher from the Confucius Institute taught the concluding lesson, and the representative of trainees shared her experiences. Trainees demonstrated their language skill and gratitude with a Chinese language finger dance, rousing warm applause from the audience.
