The delegation led by H.E. Huang Runqiu, Minister of Ecology and Environment of China, visited Auckland and Taupo from 27 to 28 August. During the visit, Minister Huang met with Mayor of Auckland Wayne Brown and Mayor of Taupo David Trewavas, attended the Sustainability Networking Event hosted by New Zealand China Council, and visited a boat enterprise and GNS Science Wairakei Research Centre. The two sides exchanged views on the response to climate change and the transitions to low-carbon city.
