On September 15, Ambassador Zhou Jian attended the Fiji Chinese Community's celebration on the 75th anniversary of the People's Republic of China and Mid-Autumn Festival. The event was also attended by Fijian President H.E Mr. Ratu Wiliame Katonivere and the First Lady Madam Vilomena Katonivere, Minister for Agriculture and Waterways Hon. Vatimi Rayalu, Minister for Multi Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry Hon. Charan Jeath Singh, and over 350 members of the Chinese community in Fiji.
Ambassador Zhou conveyed the cordial greetings and best wishes to Chinese compatriots in Fiji from the Communist Party of China, the Chinese government and people. He reviewed the historic achievements of the People's Republic of China over the past 75 years, looked forward to a bright future for China-Fiji relations, and encouraged the Chinese community in Fiji to uphold their glorious traditions, leverage their strengths, and make greater contributions to the development of China-Fiji relations and the Chinese community itself.
In his speech, President Katonivere acknowledged the significant contributions made by the Chinese community to Fiji’s development. He wished the Chinese people and the Chinese community in Fiji a happy National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, emphasizing Fiji's continued commitment to deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with China and creating a brighter future together.
