Cultural Infusion Performance Successfully Held

On September 17, a Cultural Infusion Performance in celebration of the 20th anniversary of China-Dominica Diplomatic Relations, featured the Zhejiang WuOpera and local sing and dancing performance, took place in Roseau, Dominica. Dominican President H.E. Sylvanie Burton and Mr. Burton, Acting Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre, Minister for Culture, Youth, Sports and Community Development Hon. Gretta Roberts, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica H.E. Chu Maoming, and nearly 200 local residents and members of the Chinese community attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Chu extended Mid-Autumn Festival greetings to the guests, noting the rapid development of China-Dominica relations and the increasing cultural exchanges between the two countries. He expressed hope that the audience would further appreciate the unique charm of Chinese culture through the WuOpera performance. He also emphasized China's willingness to work with Dominica to promote the Global Civilization Initiative and strengthen mutual understanding between the two peoples.

Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre and Hon. Gretta Roberts both highlighted that the WuOpera Troupe's journey across the ocean to perform in Dominica exemplifies the deep friendship between the two nations. They expressed a desire to further enhance cultural exchanges with China, contributing to the continuous growth of bilateral relations.

The performance lasted for four hours, with local artistic groups also taking the stage. The atmosphere was friendly and enthusiastic. The audience praised the captivating and exquisite performances, expressing a strong interest in learning more about Chinese culture through this opportunity.
