On 18th September, Ambassador Wang Lixin attended the launch of Huawei's “Seeds for the Future” project. Hon. Maryam Mariya, Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development of the Maldives and others were present.
Ambassador Wang Lixin said that President Xi Jinping emphasized that science and technology is the first productive force, talent is the first resource, and innovation is the first driving force. The Chinese government attaches great importance to education development, scientific and technological innovation, and talent cultivation, and is ready to further deepen cooperation with the Maldives in the fields of education and training, information technology, and the digital economy so as to contribute to the digitalization vision put forward by President Dr. Muizzu. We believe that Huawei's “Seeds for the Future” program will play an important role in the growth and development of the Maldivian young talents and national construction, and will also make a positive contribution to the development of China-Maldives relations.

Maryam Mariya expressed her gratitude to Huawei for providing valuable learning opportunities for the Maldivian youth and helping the country cultivate innovative talents, and empowering the development of the digital economy, and expressed her commitment to deepening the Maldives-China friendship and cooperation. The award-winning trainees said they are eagerly looking forward to benefiting from this training program in China.
