On 27 September 2024, the Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas, H.E. Yan Jiarong, met with Dr. Christine Chen, President of The Bahamas Dragon Boat Association, and some members of the Association. Dr. Chen briefed the Ambassador on the preparations for the third Dragon Boat Festival and hoped that the Chinese Embassy would continue to support this event.

Ambassador Yan highly appreciated the important contributions made by The Bahamas Dragon Boat Association in promoting the traditional Chinese sport of dragon boat racing and the Chinese culture in the past two years since its establishment. She said that the Embassy will continue to support the Association in organizing the Dragon Boat Festival, carry forward this ancient Chinese sport in The Bahamas, and promote the diversity of the Bahamian culture and the integration of Chinese traditional culture and Bahamian culture which enhanced the people-to people bond between China and The Bahamas.
