On September 26, the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea held the reception Marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. H.E. Yang Xiaoguang, Chinese Ambassador to PNG, H.E. Sir Bob Dadae, Governor General of Papua New Guinea, Hon. John Rosso, Acting Prime Minister and other ministers and governors, as well as about 400 representatives from the PNG government agencies, military and police, diplomatic corps, Chinese companies, and Chinese communities attended the reception.
Ambassador Yang Xiaoguang reviewed the great achievements in the past 75 years since the founding of PRC, introduced the strategic deployment and great significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and looked forward to the bright future for China-PNG cooperation. He said that China is ready to join hands with PNG to promote the China-PNG Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a higher level to the greater benefit of the two peoples.
On behalf of the Government and people of PNG, Acting Prime Minister John Rosso congratulated on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, highly appreciated the development achievements of China and China-PNG relations. He said that PNG firmly adheres to the one-China policy, and will continue to deepen bilateral relations and cooperation.
During the event, national image network promotional film "PRC" and the video introducing China-PNG cooperation were on display, and students from Butuka Academy performed Chinese martial arts and the Chinese and Motu version song "Auld Lang Syne", which were warmly welcomed by the guests.
