China Will Continue to Be an Active Participator and Major Contributor to Global Governance Against Crime

On October 14, Ambassador Li Song, Permanent Representative of China in Vienna, led the Chinese delegation to attend the 12th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, comprehensively elaborating on China's achievements and propositions in the field of combating transnational organized crime.

Ambassador Li said that the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese government always uphold the people-centered development concept, advance law-based governance on all fronts, and promote the building of rule of law in China and a safe China, making China one of the safest countries in the world. China will promote the implementation of the Global Security Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping, actively carry out international law enforcement and judicial cooperation, and continue to be an active participator and major contributor to global governance against crime.

Ambassador Li pointed out that state parties should uphold multilateralism, enhance political will, deepen coordination and cooperation, strengthen capacity-building, and strive to achieve the goals of the Convention. As the largest developing country and an important member of the Global South, China will work with all parties to promote the realization of a more just and reasonable global governance system against crime and a human community of shared security.
