On October 31, Chinese Ambassador to PNG, H.E. Yang Xiaoguang met with Minister for Works and Highway of PNG, Hon. Solan Mirisim.

Ambassador Yang reviewed the achievements of the China-PNG Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, introduced the great significance and strategic deployment of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and said that the Chinese side is willing to work with the PNG side to promote stronger synergy between China’s Belt and Road Initiative and PNG’s PNG Vision 2050, Connecting PNG and other development strategies, deepen practical cooperation between China and PNG in various fields, and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries. 

Minister Mirisim thanked China for its long-term support for PNG's economic and social development, especially for its important contribution to the PNG’s infrastructure including roads, bridges, airports, etc. He said that the PNG side is willing to work with the Chinese side to jointly build the Belt and Road, and expand cooperation in infrastructure and other fields for mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
