On November 3, Ambassador He Rulong was invited as the guest of honor to attend the Festival of Nations held in Akranes. About 2,000 people attended, including Jónína Margrét Sigmundsdóttir, representative from the Akranes City Council, Icelanders and immigrants from more than 20 countries.

Ambassador He delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, expounding on the Global Civilization Initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping, affirming the role of cultural exchanges in enhancing understanding and promoting peace, and expressing willingness to strengthen cultural exchanges with other countries.

The embassy opened a Chinese booth to display Chinese delicacies such as smashed cucumbers and spring rolls, handicrafts such as paper cutting and dragon lantern making, as well as traditional Han costumes.
