On October 31, His Excellency Chu Maoming met with Her Excellency Dominican President Sylvanie Burton, and officially extended a congratulatory letter from His Excellency Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 46th Independence Day of Dominica.

Ambassador Chu extended China’s warm wishes to Dominica on the 46th anniversary of its independence, and congratulated the successful hosting of the World Creole Music Festival. He also commended President Burton for her impressive speech at the general debate of the 79th session of the UNGA, noting that China and Dominica share common ground on key issues at the international arena. Ambassador Chu expressed China’s readiness to further strengthen practical cooperation with a view to advancing the China-Dominica relationship.

President Burton expressed her gratitude for President Xi’s congratulatory message and China’s generous assistance towards Dominica’s economic and social development. She affirmed that Dominica remains a steadfast friend of China and will continue to promote closer cooperation in various fields to ensure that the friendship between the two countries benefits their peoples.
