From 4th to 6th November, Chinese Ambassador to PNG, H.E. Yang Xiaoguang visited Eastern Highlands Province of PNG.

Ambassador Yang met with Eastern Highlands Governor Hon. Simon Sia. They reviewed the fruitful practical cooperation achievements between Fujian Province and Eastern Highlands Province since the establishment of friendship relations between the two provinces, and had in-depth exchanges on further expanding and deepening the cooperation between Eastern Highlands Province and the Chinese side in the fields of agriculture, economy, trade, education, etc.

Ambassador Yang visited the University of Goroka and the Confucius Education, Culture and Research Centre of the university, and introduced the outcomes of China-PNG educational and cultural cooperation and the significance of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee to the representatives of teachers and students. He encouraged the students to learn professional knowledge well, understand Chinese culture, and contribute to the development of PNG and China-PNG relations.

During the visit, Ambassador Yang visited the China-aided Juncao and Upland Rice Technology Project Team and the projects being built by Chinese enterprises, and met with Chinese Communities. He asked everyone to further strengthen security protection, ensure full compliance, fulfill social responsibilities, jointly promoting the China-PNG comprehensive strategic relations.
