On 12 November, Ambassador Qi Qianjin met with Deputy Speaker of Croatian Parliament Mr. Radin Furio.

Ambassador Qi congratulated Mr. Radin on his re-election as Deputy Speaker, spoke highly of his contribution to promoting the development of China-Croatia relations and exchanges between the two countries’ legislative bodies, and focused on sharing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the good results achieved by the Chinese government’s recent package of economic policies. Ambassador Qi elaborated on China’s principled position on the Taiwan question, appreciated the Croatian Parliament’s adherence to the one-China principle, and looked forward to further strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the two countries’ legislative bodies and promoting the China-Croatia Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership to a new level.

Mr. Radin said that Croatia and China have traditional friendship, the Croatian Parliament and government have always adhered to the one-China principle and are willing to actively promote exchanges and mutual learning at all levels between the two legislative bodies. There is great potential for Croatia and China in cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment and tourism,etc.. He believes that China’s sustained economic growth will bring more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
