On November 15, 2024, the Chinese Consulate General in Perth held the symposium to celebrate President Xi Jinping's state visit to Australia and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia. Consul General Long Dingbin, Hon Kate Doust MLC representing WA Premier Hon Roger Cook MLA, DFAT WA state office director Sally Dawkins, Mr Nitin Vashisht representing the WA Liberal Party leader Libby Mettam, as well as representatives from Western Australian business, scitech and education, Chinese community, think tank and media, Communist Party of Australia, Chinese overseas institutions and students, nearly 60 people attended the symposium.
Consul General Long thanked people from all walks of life for their active participation and promotion of bilateral friendly cooperation over the years. He said that China and Western Australia have traditional friendship and close practical cooperation. China's high-quality development is an important opportunity for Australia. He is willing to work with all sectors to create a bright future for China-Australia relations.
