On November 12, Ambassador Qi Qianjin attended the opening ceremony of the 46th Zagreb Interliber Book Fair. During the event, he met with representatives from China International Book Trading Corporation and Chinese publishing press, and visited the exhibition booth Confucius Institute of the University of Zagreb.

Ambassador Qi highlighted the significance of the Zagreb International Book Fair as a major cultural event in Croatia. He noted that International Book Trading Corporation brought together 14 publishing houses and over 20 representatives for the exhibition is a testament to China’s commitment to sharing its literature and cultural heritage globally. He expressed hope that these companies would strengthen their promotion and collaborative efforts in Croatia, fostering closer ties between the Chinese and Croatian people and encouraging cultural exchange and understanding.

While visiting the Confucius Institute booth, Ambassador Qi commended the Institute’s outstanding contributions to promoting Chinese culture abroad. He encouraged it to continue innovating in its approaches by utilizing social media and digital technology to present Chinese culture, both traditional and modern, in dynamic and engaging ways, so as to help Croatian people to gain a deeper and multidimensional understanding of China.
