Chinese Ambassador to Dominica Chu Maoming Visits Project of Schools Reconstruction After Hurricane in the Commonwealth of Dominica

On 9 November 2024, the Government of the Commonwealth of the Commonwealth of Dominica held a grand groundbreaking ceremony for its new international airport project. The event was attended by over 2000 people, including Dominica's President Sylvanie Burton, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Cabinet members, Chinese ambassador to Dominica Chu Mao Ming, Deputy General Manager of China Railway No.5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. Chen Zuolin, and project developer representative, as well as representatives from various sectors of the Dominican society.

In his address, Prime Minister Skerrit highlighted that the construction of a modern international airport had been a long-cherished aspiration of his Government and people. He expressed confidence that the new airport's completion would greatly enhance the country's economic and social development, delivering enduring benefits for its citizens. Skerrit voiced pride in advancing this significant vision, made possible through the efforts and support of all parties involved. He also commended the qualifications and credibility of China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. as the construction contractor, and expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Dominica for its invaluable support. 

Ambassador Chu, along with President Burton, Prime Minister Skerrit, Deputy General Manager Chen Zuolin and others, laid the foundation stone for the project and engaged in cordial exchanges with Dominican dignitaries attending the ceremony.
