Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Wang Lixin Pays a Farewell Call on the Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel

On November 26, Ambassador Wang Lixin paid a farewell call on the Maldivian Foreign Minister Dr. Abdulla Khaleel.

Ambassador Wang said, this year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's historic state visit to the Maldives. In recent years, political mutual trust between the two countries has continuously strengthened, practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results, and people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly closer. In January this year, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, President Dr. Muizzu made a successful state visit to China. The two heads of state announced to elevate our relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and propelled bilateral ties into a fast track. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Maldivian side to take the opportunity of implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state to deepen cooperation in various fields, including trade, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and tourism, and to promote the relationship toward a brighter future.

Minister Khaleel expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Wang for her tireless efforts in promoting the development of bilateral relations. He noted that China-Maldives friendship and cooperation have greatly contributed to the economic and social development of the Maldives, improving the livelihood of the Maldivian people. He looked forward to further deepening bilateral relations and hoped that the Maldives would continue to benefit from China's development in the future.
