On November 28, 2024, Consul General Yang Yi delivered a speech on China-Egypt relations at the Alexandria Sports Club. More than 40 people attended the speech, including the senior members from the Cultural Committee and professors of the Faculty of Arts of Alexandria University etc.

Yang Yi introduced the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the two meetings between General Secretary Xi Jinping and President Sisi this year, the economic situation in China, and the current status of the development of relations between the consular district and China. Yang said that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has created a historic opportunity for exchanges and cooperation between China and Egypt in various fields. Under the new situation, building a more meaningful and dynamic China-Egypt relationship is in line with the common expectations of the people of the two countries. The consulate is willing to continue to deepen pragmatic cooperation with all sectors of the consular district, jointly build the "Belt and Road" with high quality, strengthen cultural exchanges, and promote the continuous progress of bilateral relations. 

During the interactive session, Yang Yi answered questions about the relationship between Alexandria and the "Belt and Road", cultural and educational exchanges.
