The Consulate-General in Brisbane Holds a Seminar on “Conversation with Dr Consul-General: World Economic Situation and Prospects of China-Australia Economic and Trade Relations”

On 3 December 2024, the Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane held a seminar on "Conversation with Dr Consul-General: World Economic Situation and Prospects of China-Australia Economic and Trade Relations".  Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze made a keynote speech, and eight speakers including representatives of the Queensland government, universities, and business community as well as Deputy Consul-General Mr YANG Chenqi, Deputy Consul-General Ms Li Suyun, and Consul DONG Yubin attended the seminar.

Dr RUAN said that in the face of challenges such as geopolitics,unilateralism and protectionism,unity, cooperation, openness and inclusiveness are the right path. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has started a new journey for Chinese modernization,which will create more new opportunities for the development of the Asia-Pacific and the world. China and Australia are complementary in economies and should jointly support and safeguard economic globalization and free trade.

Participants shared their views on the global economic situation, and the prospects for bilateral economic and trade relations. They appreciated the tremendous achievements made in Chinese modernization and believed that Australia and China should strengthen economic and trade ties and further expand areas of cooperation to contribute to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
