Morgunblaðið Carries an Article by Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong Entitled “Seventy-Five Years of Continuous Self-Improvement”

On September 21, the leading Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið carried an article by Ambassador He Rulong entitled “Seventy-Five Years of Continuous Self-Improvement”, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

The article stated that over the past 75 years since the founding of the People's Republic, China has achieved remarkable developments. It has always pursued an independent foreign policy of peace and upheld the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. China has never stopped reform and self-improvement. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China successfully held in Beijing last July put forward an overall goal of further deepening reform comprehensively to advance Chinese modernization. China will continue to serve as a vital engine for global economic growth, advance whole-process people's democracy, lead innovation and green development, making contribution to the prosperity and stability of the world. As countries witnessing the same rapid development, China and Iceland can learn from each other, and there is a bright future for China-Iceland bilateral relationship.
