On September 26, H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia attended the handover ceremony of China's donation of police uniforms to Somalia in Mogadishu and delivered remarks. H.E. Police Major General Sulub Ahmed Firin, Representative of the Somali government hosted the event.

Ambassador Wang Yu said that China and Somalia are sincere friends and partners of mutual assistance. China renders active support to Somalia in enhancing its independent development, counter-terrorism capability by means of aids in various areas. China's donation of police uniforms to Somalia is both a significant move to implement the consensus of the two heads of state reached during the meeting on the sidelines of FOCAC summit on enriching China-Somalia strategic partnership, and a dynamic action to help Somalia crack down on crimes and promote public security.

Police Major General Firin expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the Somali government. He said that the police uniforms donated by China will be very helpful to the capacity building of the Somali Police Forces (SPF). The SPF is ready to strengthen experience sharing, communication and cooperation with the Chinese police so as to make contribution to the development of Somalia-China relations.
