On September 30, the Chinese Embassy in Norway held a reception to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway. Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment Mr. Tore Sandvik, State Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Bjørg Sandkjær, Third Vice President of the Storting Mr. Morten Wold, former Prime Minister Mr. Kjell Magne Bondevik, the diplomatic corp in Oslo, overseas Chinese and students, and representatives of Chinese enterprises in Norway together with over 500 guests were present at the reception.
Ambassador Hou Yue outlined the achievements of China over the past 75 years, and briefed the decisions made during the third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. She said that the 70 years of friendly exchanges between China and Norway have yielded fruitful results. Prime Minister Støre just concluded a successful visit to China, and the leaders of the two countries reached important consensus on deepening bilateral relations. Based on the good momentum laid by the visit, China looks forward to working with Norway to open a new chapter in China-Norway friendship.
Mr. Sandvik congratulated China on its National Day on behalf of the Norwegian government. He highly spoke of the positive results of the 70 years of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, and looked forward to new progress in practical cooperation between the two countries.
Guests watched a commemorative video of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Norway, and a photo exhibition of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. They also enjoyed performance by Children's Orchestra and works of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
