Consul General Chen Shijie attended the 2024 Chinese Cultural Camp Auckland Opening Ceremony on 30 September, together with Dr. Carlos Cheung, Member of Parliament, Ms. Stella Chan, Chairperson of the CNSST Foundation, Ms. Jenny Wang, Executive Director of CNSST Foundation. Around 200 teachers and students joined the event.
Consul General Chen stated in his speech that the Chinese Culture Camp provides a great opportunity for young kiwis to learn and experience Chinese culture, and hoped that young Kiwis will become a bridge of culture exchanges and mutual learning between China and New Zealand, deepen mutual understanding and friendship between our two peoples with the power of culture, and promote the continuous development of China-New Zealand relations. The Consulate General will continue to support friendly exchanges among young people of the two countries.
This event is organized by the Chinese Language Education Development Center, co-organized by Huaqiao University of China and the CNSST Foundation, with the support of the New Zealand Chinese Language Education Society. Students will take courses including Chinese painting, martial arts, calligraphy, paper cutting, etc.
