On 2 October, the Chinese Embassy in Somalia held a farewell roundtable for a delegation made up of young officials from Somali Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, which will be heading for China soon. H.E. Wang Yu, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, together with H.E. Sadad Mohamed Nur Alio, State Minister of Somali Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, attended and addressed the roundtable.
Ambassador Wang introduced the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and said that China has always supported Somalia's national rebuilding, and will continue to provide Somalia with personnel training assistance. He hoped that the Somali trainees will not only enhance their professional capability through the program but also have a deeper understanding of the remarkable achievements of Chinese development and the bright future of Chinese modernization, and make due contributions to strengthen the China-Somalia strategic partnership.
State Minister Alio gladly recalled the scenes of Chinese experts working in Somalia when he was young, and said that China is a true friend of Somalia. He expressed sincere gratitude to China for providing valuable training opportunities to young officials of the Somali government. He encouraged the trainees to take this opportunity to broaden their horizons and capability, and stay committed to the development of the traditional friendship between two countries.
