On October 23, 2024, Consul General Xu Wei met with the Mayor of Bandar Abbas Mehdi Nobani. The Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Bandar Abbas Issa Abbasi was present.

Nobani congratulated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China on behalf of all sectors of Bandar Abbas, and praised that the Chinese National Day Special Issue published by the Chinese Consulate General on Sobhe Sahel, a major newspaper in southern Iran, received a widespread and warm response, which provided an important window for local people to understand China and Iran-China relations, enhanced the traditional friendship between the two sides and created a good atmosphere for cooperation. Iran is willing to maintain close contact with the Chinese Consulate General, get aboard the express train of China's high-quality development, and promote the local cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
