On October 24, Chinese Ambassador to Dominica H.E. Chu Maoming met with the new Kalinago Chief of Dominica, Ms. Anette Sanford, at the Chinese Embassy. The two sides exchanged views on community development and cultural exchange.

Ambassador Chu extended his congratulations to Chief Sanford on her election. He noted that China is a country with a long history and diverse ethnic groups, while Dominica also has unique and rich cultural heritages in the Kalinago Territory. China is willing to work together with Dominica to implement the Global Civilization Initiative, fostering dialogue between out two civilizations, and promoting practical cooperation to support the development of Kalinago culture and community.

Chief Sanford expressed her gratitude for the Embassy’s support for the Kalinago Territory and expressed her desire to strengthen cooperation with the Embassy to further benefit local communities and advance the China-Dominica relationship.
