On October 31, the Chinese Embassy in Somalia held the first China Alumni networking activity with a topic “Learning in China and Contributing to Somalia”, attracting nearly 100 Somali Chinese alumni from all walks of life in Mogadishu to attend. H.E. Ambassador Wang Yu delivered a keynote speech, and alumni representatives, Somali Ambassador-designate to China Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi, and Director of Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Said Jama Mire delivered speeches. Somali State Minister of Education, State Minister of Family and Human Rights Development, Deputy Minister of Health also attended.

Ambassador Wang said that he was delighted to meet with the alumni. It is gratifying to see that so many Somali friends benefit a lot from their learning experiences in China and now are active in all works of life in Somalia. He also expected that, by sharing the common experience, vision and responsibility, the Somali Chinese alumni will work for the further development of the China-Somalia relationship.
