On 6 November, Consul General He Ying met with Scott Carraway, General Manager of Trade and Development of Christchurch International Airport, and Kane McBride, Senior Manager Christchurch Airports of Air New Zealand, and their executive teams.

Among those present were Xu Haiyuan, Deputy Consul General, Wang Jinjun, Consul for Trade andEconomic Affairs, Li Muqing, Vice Consul , and Alan Xiao, General Manager of China Southern Airlines New Zealand.

The Consul General He thanked the airport and the airlines for their long standing support to the work of the Consulate General.She also conveyed the Consulate General’s readiness to work closely with the airport and the airlines to promote practical cooperation between China and the South Island in various fields including economy and trade, tourism and education. The two sides engaged in constructive dialogue on the next step of cooperation, during which China Southern Airlines introduced the resumption of flights on the Guangzhou-Christchurch route.
