Chinese Consul General in Perth Long Dingbin Visits Port Hedland, Western Australia

On November 28, 2024, accompanied by Consul Wang Shuwei, Consul General Long Dingbin visited Port Hedland, Western Australia. Consul General Long met with Mayor Peter Carter and exchanged views on relations and cooperation in economy, trade and investment between China and Western Australia . 

Consul General Long praised the strong development momentum of Port Hedland, saying this year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Australia and the establishment of China-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership. Premier Li Qiang's official visit to Australia this June has injected new impetus into bilateral relations of China and Australia. China has a huge domestic market and resilient economy. I am willing to promote deepening of cooperation in various fields between China and Western Australia.

Mayor Carter said he loves Chinese culture, has many Chinese friends and maintains close contacts with China. Port Hedland enjoys broad development prospects and opportunities. Many Chinese companies are doing business here. More Chinese companies are welcome to invest in Hedland and we will try our best to provide them good service.

On the same day, Consul General Long visited Cassia Primary School of Port Hedland and had friendly exchanges with Principal Jacqueline Barry and the fourth grade students and teachers.
