On November 5, Ambassador Wang Lixin attended the handover ceremony of air conditioners donated by the Embassy to the Ministry of Education of the Maldives at the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE). Nearly 250 people, including Mr. Ismail Shafeeu, Minister of Education, along with teachers and students from CHSE were present.

Ambassador Wang said that, early this year, President Dr. Muizzu paid a successful state visit to China, establishing China-Maldives comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, and opening new prospects for cooperation in youth and education areas between the two countries. President Xi Jinping said that, “ A nation will prosper only when its young people thrive, and a country will be strong only when its young people have strength.” ‘Cool School’ project initiated by President Dr. Muizzu is an important measure for growth of young people. Donating air conditioners to the Maldivian side to improve the teaching environment in schools is a concrete action taken by the Chinese side to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state. The Chinese side hopes to better promote the development of human resources in the Maldives, and carry forward China-Maldives friendship.

Minister Shafeeu and the school representatives thanked the Chinese side for the donation, saying that the Chinese side's kindness reflects the deep friendship and strong partnership between the two countries.They hope that the students can make full use of the sound learning environment, study hard and make contributions to the country.
