The Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane and Queensland Department of Education jointly Holds an Award Ceremony for the 2024 “Lotus Language Prize”

On 5 December 2024, the Chinese Consulate-General in Brisbane and the Queensland Department of Education jointly held an award ceremony for the 2024" Lotus Language Prize". Consul-General Dr RUAN Zongze and Ms. Rebecca Hall, Assistant Director-General of Policy, External Relations and International of Department of Education Queensland, attended and delivered speeches. The award-winning students, supervisors, families and representatives from schools, Deputy Consul-General Ms LI Suyun, Consul LI Mingsi and Vice Consul SHI Wenhua,more than 70 people, attended the event.

Dr RUAN extended congratulations to the recipients and their supervisors. He said that language is an important vehicle of  culture. It is hoped that the recipients will make more Chinese friends through their visit to China, and become the bridges and bonds between  the two peoples. 

Ms Rebecca Hall said that the " Lotus Language Prize " is the first  award of the Queensland Department of Education to recognize and support Chinese language for young Queenslanders. It is hoped that the program will help to build our cultural, economic and social engagement.
