Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu Attends the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Awarding Ceremony

On December 5th, Yin Chengwu, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, attended the Chinese Ambassador’s Scholarship Awarding Ceremony and delivered a speech. More than 40 guests attended the ceremony, including Hon. Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, President of the University of Liberia, Hon. Dr. Olu Q. Menjay, President of William V.S. Tubman University, Hon. Dr. Zobong B. Norman, President of Bomi Community College, Hon. Dr. Roosevelt G. Jayjay, Deputy Vice President for Academic Affairs of Cuttington University, Mr. Dexter S. Sumo and Ms. Zhou Hongzhuan, Director of Confucius Institute,and students representatives from the related universities.

Yin said,the Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship is a great project to help students complete their studies and realize their dreams. China is willing to work with the Liberian side to implement the outcomes of the Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation with the Liberian side, strengthen China-Liberia and China-Africa educational cooperation, create new opportunities and open a door to the better future for Liberian students, and promote the strategic partnership between the two countries to a new level.

Hon. Conteh, Hon. Menjay and Hon. Norman thanked the Chinese side for its long-term support to the education development in Liberia, encouraged the students to study hard and become ambassadors of China-Liberian friendship, and said they would continue to promote cooperation between Liberia and China in the field of education. After the meeting, the young diplomats from the Chinese Embassy and the student representatives had an exchange and discussion,and the atmosphere was warm and friendly.
