Chinese Ambassador to Guyana Guo Haiyan Bid Farewell to H.E. President Mohamed Irfaan Ali

On December 3, 2024, H.E. Ambassador Guo Haiyan bid farewell to H.E. Dr. Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, in State House.

Ambassador Guo extended appreciation to President Ali’s high attention to developing bilateral relations and his successful visit to China in 2023. She noted that under the strong leadership of the two heads of state, China-Guyana relations have made steady progress with fruitful practical cooperation. She thanked the Guyanese side for its trust in Chinese enterprises and its care for Chinese nationals in Guyana. Guyana is an important country in the Caribbean. China looks forward to promoting cooperation with Guyana either through bilateral channel or under the framework of China-CELAC cooperation.

President Ali applauded Ambassador Guo’s outstanding contribution to Guyana-China relations during her term of office, and expressed his satisfaction with the achievements of bilateral cooperation. He attaches great importance to the development of Guyana-China relations. Guyana stands ready to continuously work with China in agriculture, health and other fields, and welcomes more investment from China. 

Recently, Ambassador Guo also bid farewell to Prime Minister, Speaker, Foreign Minister, Minister of Finance, Minister of Health, Minster of Agriculture, Chief of Defense Staff of Guyana.
