On November 25, 2024, Yang Yi, Chinese Consul General in Alexandria, met with Rear Admiral Tarek Abdullah Ahmed, Head of Maritime Transport and Logistics Sector, Egypt. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening China-Egypt maritime cooperation.
Consul General Yang Yi congratulated RADM Tarek on his new appointment, introduced the latest development of China-Egypt relations, the current maritime transport cooperation in particular, and expressed his willingness to continue to maintain close contact and cooperation with the Egyptian Maritime Transport & Logistics Sector to promote bilateral relations toward the goal of building a China-Egypt community with a shared future in the new era.
RADM Tarek emphasized the cooperative achievements and fruitful results in the field of maritime and logistics on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China. He expressed the willingness to deeply integrate with "Belt and Road" initiative, communicate and coordinate closely with Chinese Consulate General in Alexandria to further promote practical cooperation.
