On December 13th, Ambassador He Rulong met with Viktor Ólason, CEO of Iceland Review, accompanied by Counselor Dai Ke from the Embassy.
During the meeting, Ambassador He listened to Mr. Olason’s experiences attending a conference in Quanzhou city, China. Ambassador He highlighted the historical significance of Quanzhou city as the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and its role as a pilot zone for the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road under the Belt and Road Initiative. Ambassador He encouraged Mr. Ólason to promote the exchange of culture, tourism and trade between China and Iceland via the magazine and its social media platforms. Specifically, Ambassador He hoped that Icelanders could take advantage of the visa-free policy to visit China for tourism and business, fostering closer ties and mutual development between the two nations.
Mr. Ólason shared Iceland Review’s experiences collaborating with Chinese media and showed great interest in launching more cultural and artistic exchange programs in the future, providing travel information and safety tips for Chinese tourists visiting Iceland.
