On January 9, the Spring in the City & Happy Chinese New Year 2025 kicked off at Suntec City, Singapore. Ambassador Cao Zhongming, and his wife, Madam Yang Qing, attended the ceremony. Counselor Qin Wen of the Embassy was also present. Former Minister of State Mr Chan Soo Sen and representatives from Singapore's major Chinese communities and friendly associations were among the more than 100 participants of the event.

Ambassador Cao noted in his speech that since its inception in 1994, the Spring in the City event has become one of the most popular celebrations of the Chinese New Year among Singaporeans. It not only showcases the vitality of Singapore's multiculturalism but also stands as a strong testament to the enduring friendship between Chinese and Singaporean people since the two countries established diplomatic relations 35 years ago.

Activities under this year's Spring in the City event will last to February 2, featuring vibrant cultural performances and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions at venues such as Suntec City, Capitol Theatre, and the Singapore's School of the Arts.
