On January 14, Ambassador Xiao Jianguo met with the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew.

Ambassador Xiao spoke highly of the fruitful results achieved by China and Brunei in the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, thanked the ministry for its pivotal role in deepening China-Brunei economic and trade cooperation, and expressed China's readiness to collaborate with Brunei to actively implement the consensus reached by the heads of the two states and make greater contributions to the steady and far-reaching development of China-Brunei relations.

Dato Dr. Amin Liew thanked China for its positive contribution to helping Brunei's economic diversification, and expressed his willingness to carry out more pragmatic cooperation with China in the fields of trade and investment to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results for the benefit of the people in both countries.
