On 16 January, Her Excellency Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas Yan Jiarong was invited to attend the 2025 Bahamas Business Outlook, delivering a speech and answering questions from the audience. Prime Minister Davis delivered a keynote speech, Deputy Prime Minister Cooper, Minister of Economic Affairs Halkitis and other cabinet members were present. Over 300 people from the Bahamian business community attended the event.
Yan introduced the bright prospects of China's economy and the high-quality development of the Belt and Road, emphasizing that China's economy is the stabilizer and engine for the global economy. She said that Chinese products help improve the well-being of the world's people, and China's market provides a broad stage for the products and services of all countries. Yan illustrated the opportunities and challenges of trade and practical cooperation between China and The Bahamas, and encouraged The Bahamas joining the Belt and Road family at an early date, to expand direct trade in goods between the two countries, attract more Chinese tourists to The Bahamas enhancing the trade in services of the two countries.
