On 16th January, H.E. Xiao Jianguo, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam met with Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs of Brunei Darussalam. Permanent Secretary Awang Salminan and Awang Abdul Walid were present.

Ambassador Xiao highly praised the fruitful outcomes of people-to-people exchange and sister city cooperation between the two countries in recent years, and expressed the readiness of Chinese side to work with Bruneian side to further promote mutual visits and to strengthen exchanges in various levels, as well as to deepen cooperation between sister cities, so as to enrich more essence into China-Brunei Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Dato Ahmaddin thanked China for upgrading its visa exemption policy to Bruneian citizens, and expressed his willingness to take more measures to facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries and to strengthen cooperation at local government level, contributing more to the development of Brunei-China relations.
